Gate House Hotel is a fantastic place to leave your piggies for a holiday! They get lots of space in their hutches and plenty of time to enjoy the outside space. A great find!

Our degus had a great holiday with Karen. She sent me updates and pictures and they were even sent home with some presents! Highly recommend
Having lost a piggy only a few days before they were due to board, Karen was very kind & understanding of my neurosis of leaving one pig with her! She gave Reggie lots of cuddles & TV time as well as a snazzy new cut & dry. His living arrangements were spotless & cozy. Would definitely recommend Gate House Hotel.
We left our hamster and guinea pig with Karen for a week while we were on holiday and were not sure what to expect. But from the moment we met Karen she made us and our boys feel totally at ease. She took great care of them and let us know how they were getting on. She clearly loves being with the animals and they love her too! From our first message all the way through to our plane being delayed and us being late to pick them up, the whole process was straightforward and relaxed. Also great value for money. Karen grows fresh fruit and vegetables and looks after the animals as if they were her own. We will not hesitate to book with her again. Thank you so much for doing such a wonderful job.

We used the Guinea Pig Hotel to care for my son’s little hamster, Princess Leia, when we were on holiday abroad for three weeks. The whole process of booking in was very smooth, they are very reasonably priced and Karen and her husband go above and beyond what can be expected! They even gave a small treat to the hamster, which she really enjoyed. We were allowed to bring and collect her on special days (Mother’s Day and Easter Sunday). Best of all they posted pictures of the hamster so that my son, when he was missing her, could look at how she was doing from abroad. The Gate House team took fantastic care of Princess Leia. We highly recommend and will use them again. Thanks a lot!🙏🙏
My piggies Cogsworth and Chip stayed here for their Easter holidays. ( I know, quite some months ago but I’m only getting round to writing this now) They had a brilliant time. Loads of company, loads of grass time and loads of room in their accommodation. I’m confident they felt their holiday wasn’t long enough ( as we all usually feel). Would highly recommend.

Fantastic little set up Karen and her husband clearly love the pigs our four little girls came home happy piggy’s and fat from all the grass, definitely be visiting again!
Just got home from picking up Sheldon our Hermann tortoise from his holiday. We are very impressed with their friendly service and care that Sheldon received whilst staying with them. Sheldon even received a gift at the end. 100% recommended and will be using again. Big thank you!
Being new to having Guinea Pigs and knowing that we will be having a summer holiday I was pleased to find The Gate House Guinea Pig Hotel online before making our purchase of guinea pigs for my daughters birthday. Our two little girls had their first holiday this summer as we left them for the first time. I was very happy with Karen and the set up for our babies, her knowledge of guinea pigs is great, she has a real passion and love for them. We went away assured and happy that our girls would be well looked after, it was also lovely to have a few Facebook updates to see how they were doing. My daughter is especially happy to be reunited with her guinea pigs and we will be using The Gate House next year. Thank you.
My little piggies were treated like superstars today during their grooming session with Karen. They came back to me gleaming and silky, with gorgeously manicured nails. Karen sent pictures and videos of their session for my kids to enjoy too. I highly recommend this excellent grooming service!
A wonderful place for little furries to stay, indoors overnight and in poor weather (heating and aircon too!) then out on the grass whenever possible. Fed better than when they’re at home and genuinely cared for. Karen has a gift with critters, they just seem to sit still and behave for her, ours won’t sit still for a second at home but she bathed and trimmed them ready for return, god knows how. We will definitely be returning.

Ron and Harry returned home on Sunday after staying 11 nights at the Gate House looking smart and neatly groomed. Karen is exceptionally welcoming host and was more than happy for us to visit before we booked our break. Once there, we were kept up to date with their progress and loved the pictures of them noshing their way through the long grass. Overall a superb service which we would definitely use again.

My dragon was very well looked after for a week with everything provided. Lovely area for the guests and the hotel managers clearly love what they do. Can’t recommend highly enough.
My piggies came home happy and squeaky clean yesterday after visiting Karen. All 6 (2 boys and 4 girls) were bathed, blow dried, nail trimmed and fur trimmed and now look healthy, clean and happy. I get so worried when I trim their nails and have been looking for someone kind and confident to do them, as it take me nearly an hour to do one foot! Karen is clearly fond of and very experienced with animals, especially Guinea Pigs. She wasn’t even a tinsy bit put off by our friendly but very fluffy-fuzzy haired piggy, Jan. We’ll definitely be coming back for more piggy pampering.
Also although our piggies didn’t stay for a holiday break…the piggy boarding facilities look lovely. We will definitely ask to book them a stay if we ever go away and need our piggies to be looked after.
